Last week I traveled to Los Cabos,  Mexico for my first vacation in what feels like forever and I’m so excited to be sharing my resort review with you! We spent a full week at the Paradisus Los Cabos and it was absolutely beautiful. From the food to the service, the experience was wonderful – keep on reading for all the details!

Location

The Paradisus is located about 30 minutes from the airport and it was super easy to find a ride to the resort. There are taxi and bus services at the airport and you can either get a private taxi or take a shared van. We took the van because it was a lot cheaper (I think $15 each) and they dropped us off right at the resort. Getting back to the airport was pretty much the same – from the resort lobby, you can schedule a taxi or van and they’ll bring you back to the airport.

Room

We stayed in a Garden View room and it was really nice!! It was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was amazing (the shower was HUGE!!) The room included a mini fridge, a Nespresso machine (both restocked daily,) and even a sofa & dining table area. The view mostly overlooked the garden/pool area but we had a little ocean view too! The room was close to the restaurants, bars, and pool which was really convenient.

Food

There are five restaurants at the resort, and four of them are all inclusive. I’m definitely a foodie and I was really impressed with most of the food we had! The breakfast is a buffet with all kinds of options from Mexican dishes to made to order omelettes, pastries, fresh fruits, cheeses,  and (my favorite) smoked salmon. I had eggs, salmon, a croissant, and cheese (why not) every single morning. The buffet is only available for breakfast, and after that all of the restaurants become sit-down/order from a menu style, which is different than any other all inclusive I’ve been to (normally they have a lunch or dinner buffet option.) For lunch we fell in LOVE with the pizzas at the Market Grill, so much that we ended up getting pizza for lunch almost every day of the week. I tried a different pizza every day, and my favorite was made with pesto, mozzarella, shrimp and (again) smoked salmon. Sooo good!! Our favorite dinner restaurants were Mole (Mexican food) – the salsa was incredible!! And Bana (Japanese/sushi) which we loved for the hibachi table.

Grounds

The Paradisus Los Cabos is one of the smaller resorts that I’ve been to, which was actually really nice. You don’t need to catch a shuttle or a golf cart to get around; everything is within walking distance. It was really convenient to be able to get back to the room within minutes from the pool or beach if we needed anything – this would be perfect for families traveling with kids (there were quite a few families there!) There is an on-site gym which was a good size for a resort gym! There are a couple cardio machines, some free weights, and some weight machines. One of my favorite spots was the Gabi sky bar which overlooked the ocean. It was absolutely beautiful at sunset!

Pool

The resort has one pool (open to everyone)  and it was a good size!  It had a volleyball net, a basketball goal, a swim up bar, and lots of room for swimming. There were plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas around the pool – I’d recommend getting there somewhat  early if you want to have your choice of chairs, because it fills up pretty quickly. We loved the atmosphere at the pool and spent a lot of time there. You can also order food and drinks and they will bring it right to your chair! Is there anything better than chips and guac by the pool?

Beach

The beach was absolutely beautiful – I could not get over the color of the water! It was the prettiest blue, and so clear than you could see all the way to the bottom. Make sure to bring a snorkel with you – that was the one thing that I forgot! There are all kinds of fish swimming around and I would have loved to get a better view. There are a few rows of lounge chairs and cabanas down at the beach, but I pretty much stayed in the water the whole time we were down there. The sand had quite a bit of rocks and shells in it, so make sure to bring a good pair of beach shoes with you because there’s a little bit of a walk to get to the ocean from the resort.

Finally I want to cover the one question that everyone has asked: Did you feel safe?

The answer is – Yes, absolutely! I felt 100% safe the entire time I was there. The resort is gated and has a guard who checks each person’s passport before letting them into the resort so it is very secure. We didn’t leave the resort while we were there (I am happy sitting by the beach or pool all day everyday) but the resort will arrange a taxi or transportation for you if you do want to go into town.

After 7 days of staying at the Paradisus Los Cabos I was not ready to come home!! I absolutely loved my time there and I can’t wait to check out some of their other locations in the future. What are some of your favorite places to travel? I’m planning more trips for this year and would love your recommendations!

Thanks for the post! I’ll be staying at this resort in a few months. Is there a charge for the cabanas? I’ll be with a group of 11 for a bachelorette party.

Thanks so much for reading! There is no charge for the cabanas – just make sure to snag them early, especially if you want a couple next to each other for the group. They get taken pretty early. Hope you have a wonderful trip!!
